Braver than Before® participants

Braver than Before FAQs.

Everything you need to know as a participant: how the programme is structured, what to do if you miss a session, how the learning platform works, and how to get your CPD certificate.

Programme structure & delivery

What is the structure of the Braver than Before® programme?

The programme consists of six virtual modules, each designed to build courage and confidence in leadership. It includes a mix of live virtual sessions, recorded content, exercises, and action learning sets through peer discussions (Courage Circles) to support your learning.

How long does the programme last, and how many hours should I set aside?

The programme runs over approximately four months, with one module or Courage Circle delivered every few weeks. Each module includes a live session (2.5 hours), along with additional exercises and recorded content that you can work through at your own pace. We recommend setting aside around 1–2 hours per module to fully engage with the material following the live session.

How is the course content delivered?

The programme is delivered through a mix of:

  • Live virtual sessions, for key discussions and interactive learning.
  • Pre-recorded content and exercises on the learning platform.
  • Courage Circles, smaller, confidential discussion groups.

Attendance & participation

Will the live sessions be recorded if I can’t attend?

Yes, all development module sessions are recorded and available on the learning platform for catch-up. However, Courage Circles are not recorded, due to their confidential nature.

What if I have a busy schedule or need to miss a session?

We strongly recommend attending all live sessions for the best experience. However:

  • If you miss a module session, you should watch the recording within one week to stay up to date.
  • If you miss a Courage Circle, we can help connect you with others in a similar position to discuss key insights.
  • If you expect to miss two or more modules or more than one Courage Circle, please get in touch at programmes@thebravestpath.com.
Can I swap to a different cohort?

You can only swap to another cohort before your programme starts, and only if your Trust has booked spaces in another cohort within the same year. Once your programme has begun, transfers are not possible.

Can I connect with other participants?

Yes. You’ll have many opportunities to engage with others during live sessions, Courage Circles, and via the learning platform, and to swap contact details to stay in touch for ongoing support after the programme ends.

Learning platform & materials

How long will I have access to the materials?

You will have access to the recordings, handouts and exercises on the learning platform for three months after the final module of your programme. You will also be able to download all of your programme notes and handouts as a single workbook to keep.

Can I access the presentation slides?

We don’t provide slides directly, as these are our intellectual property. However, you will receive comprehensive handouts summarising the key content, available to download from the learning platform. At the end of the programme, you’ll also be able to download a workbook containing all exercises, handouts and your responses in a single PDF.

Programme certificate & CPD

Will I receive a certificate after completing the programme?

Yes. On completing the Braver than Before® programme, you will receive a certificate of completion. This is downloadable digitally from the learning platform once you have completed all sections, and can be used to demonstrate your participation.

Does the programme count towards CPD hours?

Yes, the programme is equivalent to 30 hours of CPD. This includes:

  • Live sessions.
  • Pre-recorded learning.
  • Exercises and reflections.
  • Courage Circles and peer discussions.

You can use the certificate as evidence of your professional development. We recommend checking with your professional body or employer to confirm how CPD hours are accredited in your field.

How do I request my certificate?

Certificates are automatically downloadable from the learning platform at the end of the programme, for participants who have:

  • Attended the majority of live sessions, or completed the recorded content within the required timeframe.
  • Engaged with the learning platform and completed all required exercises.

If you haven’t received your certificate within two weeks of completing the programme, and you have completed all the exercises, please contact programmes@thebravestpath.com.

Will the certificate include my CPD hours?

Yes, your certificate will state that the programme is equivalent to 30 hours of CPD.

Can I use my certificate for professional revalidation or appraisal?

Most organisations accept CPD-accredited learning as part of their professional development requirements. However, we recommend checking with your regulatory body, employer or professional development framework to ensure it aligns with their criteria.
